What Is Metallic Epoxy?
Metallic epoxy is a self-levelling epoxy mixed with reflective metallic pigments that are moved by hand while wet, creating swirls, veins and a 3D, liquid look. Once cured and sealed, it becomes a seamless, high-gloss floor that looks like polished marble or flowing metal.

How We Create Your Floor
01
Design Consultation
We choose colours and the effect you want: marble, lava, ocean or subtle cloud.
02
Grinding & Smooth Base
Metallic shows every flaw, so the concrete is ground, repaired and levelled first.
03
Primer & Base Colour
A tinted base coat sets the background tone of the floor.
04
Metallic Artistry
Metallic epoxy is poured and worked by hand to create movement and depth.
05
Protective Topcoat
A clear, scratch-resistant topcoat protects the gloss for everyday use.

Metallic Epoxy Flooring FAQs
Can I choose the colours and design?
Yes. You choose the base colour and metallic tones, and we talk through the style, from bold, high-movement lava effects to soft, subtle marbling. Because the pattern is created by hand, the exact result is unique, but we'll match the look you're after as closely as possible.
Is metallic epoxy durable enough for a restaurant or store?
Yes, with the right topcoat. Our commercial metallic floors, like the one at Bombshells, are finished with a hard-wearing topcoat that stands up to foot traffic and daily cleaning. High-traffic areas may need the topcoat refreshed over time to keep the gloss.
Will a metallic floor show scratches?
Like any high-gloss surface, it can show fine scratches and dust more than a textured floor. A scratch-resistant topcoat, felt pads on furniture and walk-off mats at entrances help keep it looking its best.
Is metallic epoxy slippery?
The smooth, glossy finish can be slippery when wet. We can add a fine anti-slip additive to the topcoat, which keeps the look while improving grip, especially near entrances or in kitchens.
Can metallic epoxy go over an existing concrete floor inside my home?
Usually, yes. We grind and level the existing slab and test for moisture first. Flooring like carpet, tile or vinyl needs to be removed so the epoxy can bond directly to the concrete. See residential epoxy flooring for more.
Why does metallic epoxy cost more than other finishes?
Metallic floors need a very smooth base, specialty pigments and skilled hand-work to create the design, so they usually cost more than flake or solid-colour epoxy. Your exact price depends on size, concrete condition and design. Request a free estimate for a quote.
